Many times, teens do not want to talk with parents out of embarrassment, shame, and fear of disappointing or hurting their parents’ feelings. It can be beneficial to have someone who is objective, help them process and look at different facets and perspectives, and be a cheerleader and advocate for accomplishing their goals.
