About Me
Jennifer Foster, MA, LAC
A little of my story…
I am a licensed trauma-informed counselor. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent over 10 years working with children and families in early childhood education, and then made the move into the mental health field as an administrative and billing specialist. It was in that capacity that I fell in love with mental health and seeing how beneficial it was to the clients I helped serve. During this time, I started my own counseling and healing journey and realized the call on my life to help others work through their own childhood traumas.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe many issues can be tied back to trauma. While I specialize in trauma, I also work with a variety of issues.

My why…

It is difficult to get through childhood unscathed. Unfortunately, traumatic experiences are a part of life and for some, more than others. Our childhood experiences, whether we remember them or not, are stored in our body and interwoven into the fabric of our being and how we do life and relationships.
Generational wounds get passed down because individuals do the best they can with what they know and what they have, creating maladaptive coping skills and dysfunctional relationships. I know this all too well, as I have come to terms with my own traumatic childhood and see how it has played out in my life as an adult.

I want to help my clients find hope, healing, and the ability to thrive and live their best life that they deserve.
