Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

The total estimated cost for psychotherapy cannot in good conscience be predetermined as every client is different, and their treatment needs may vary over the course of the year. As such, an estimate reflecting sessions occurring weekly can be provided. We will work together to determine the recommended frequency of services and specific services that will be provided.

Billing and Payment

As a contractor with Pathways Counseling Services, Pathways handles all client billing. Payments are made to Pathways via cash, check (made out to Joel Ackley, Trustee) or Zelle (520-292-9750, Joel)

Insurance

Pathways Counseling Services does not accept insurance.

Pathways values privacy, confidentiality, and the client's needs in the counseling process. Medical care, including mental healthcare should be between the patient and their provider. When insurance gets involved in the counseling process, they can dictate the type of counseling and length of time (number of sessions) that an issue should take to be resolved.

Due to this, we do not take or handle insurance, are not providers associated with insurance companies, and are not an out-of-network provider.

We focus on and tailor our counseling services with the client’s best interest and needs at heart and not determine services based on the rules or policies of a third party.  We believe the client should be the one to determine what is best for his/her family care and not be possibly limited or scrutinized by a third party.
